We offer specialized sports academies, a cutting-edge science hub, a digital hub for innovation, and an engineering hub with the latest tools. Sports academies

Our multi-million pound Sports Academy is designed for both sporting and academic excellence, such as the gym, sports hall and sports science laboratory.

Health & life sciences hub

Our state-of-the-art health hub consists of a three-bed hospital ward, sluice area and treatment room and is also home to an assisted living area which mirrors the home care environment. 

Digital hub

Our Digital Academy is a specialist facility training in enables us to deliver sector-leading courses in digital software, coding, cyber security, virtual reality, games, animation and special effects.

Mechanical engineering machine shop

Our state-of-the-art machine shop is set up to mimic those used in industry, with everything you need to get started on a journey into mechanical engineering.

Welding and fabrication workshop

Our state-of-the-art welding and fabrication workshop is run to industry standards and includes specialist facilities for MIG, TIG and MMA, oxyacetylene, gas and plasma cutting.

Electrical engineering workshop

Our electrical engineering workshop provide learners with access to industry level facilities including motor control rigs, PLC training systems and realistic work areas for practical activities.

Maintenance and repair garage

Our state-of-the-art maintenance and repair workshop garage closely mirrors that of automotive industry leaders.

Accident repair body shop

Our automotive accident repair body shop features industry-standard tools and equipment, as well as the latest Nissan and Infiniti vehicles.

Future Ready Hubs

Our team of professionally qualified and experienced Careers Guidance Officers will give you everything you need to help you achieve your goals in our Future Ready Hubs.

The Housing Innovation and Construction Skills Academy (HICSA) is a ground-breaking facility that will educate, train, and upskill local people to build, retrofit and create innovative factory-built homes.

Featuring a full-sized building, classrooms, and workshops, HICSA will be the home to a range of construction courses and qualifications, as well as the Gentoo Trades Academy for 14-16-year-olds.

City Barbers is a popular male styling salon based within our City Campus. Our team of industry professionals and trainees offer traditional and modern styles in hair, moustache and beard trimming at an affordable price.

City Bistro

City Bistro's kitchen is full of up-and-coming chef talent, led by seasoned professionals, all dedicated to providing you with a high-quality dining experience. Our impressive, 80-cover, restaurant is situated within Sunderland College’s City Campus
